How it was made

Case and dial

English walnut, French-polished by hand. Brass dial, engraved, silvered and lacquered in our own shop.

Movement

Seven-cell aneroid capsule, assembled and adjusted by one person from start to finish.

Calibration

4 April, against our reference instrument at 1013.2 hPa. Re-checked on 8 April.

Serial number

MV-03-0418, engraved on the back plate.

When it arrives

Look at the crate before the courier leaves. If a corner is crushed, note it on the delivery slip and call us.

Lift it by the base. Open the crate on a table and never carry the barometer by the case top or the dial ring.

Give it a level, quiet place. Keep it away from radiators, open fires and direct sun.

Wait a day, then set it. After 24 hours, use the key in the case lid to turn the brass reference hand to today’s pressure.

Anything not right? Ask the people who made it.

I calibrated your barometer myself, so if something on this page is wrong, or the delivery window does not suit, ring me or Tomasz at the workshop on 0114 496 0143 before noon on Wednesday 9 April and we will sort it out with the courier. We are in Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
