No. 417 · eight-day movement · bog oak and blackened brass
Aoife — No. 417 came off the test bench on Wednesday, having run for six days to within four seconds a week. When the crate arrives
| 01 |
Release the pendulum. The brass transit clip is taped inside the lid, with the setting-up card. |
| 02 |
Stand it level on something solid and cool. Not above a radiator, not in direct sun. |
| 03 |
Wind it on the same day each week. Eight days is the reserve; seven is the habit. |

A note from the bench
Every Ardgour is made by two people and signed by both, and our names are inside the back plate of No. 417. If anything is not right when you open the crate — the strike, the finish, the way it keeps time in your house rather than in ours — write and tell us. We will collect it, put it right, and bring it back ourselves. The twelve-year guarantee covers parts and labour, includes the first service in 2030 at no charge, and stays with the clock if the clock ever moves on.
