Thank you for your order. Chronometer No. M-2-0417 passed its final rate test yesterday — a gain of 0.4 seconds a day, steady across five positions — and was packed this morning. DHL collected it from Leith at 10:40. It is insured for its full value until it is in your hands, and a signature will be needed on delivery.

Your guarantee
Every Haldane instrument is guaranteed for the life of its first owner against faults in material or workmanship. Serial M‑2‑0417 is entered in the workshop ledger under your name.
Send it back every five years, or whenever its rate drifts, and we will clean, oil and re‑rate it without charge. Carriage both ways is on us.

A note from the bench
The No. 2 on its way to you was rated by Fiona Murray over eleven days in February — dial up, dial down, and in three vertical positions. Her rating sheet is in the case. If it gains or loses more than two seconds a day in its first year, write to us. It will be the first one that has.
